fleurieu milk - visitor experience centre, myponga sa

Bennett Architecture has been asked to design a new visitor experience centre for Fleurieu Milk. Due to receiving increasing interest from the public wanting to further understand how Fleurieu milk is produced, the centre will have an interactive experience centre and an operational micro dairy. A training facility is also incorporated to help promote the dairy industry as a career. The three individual training rooms are flexible and can be used singularly or combined via separating acoustic operable walls. These training rooms will also be made available to the public for private training and functions that can be catered for from the adjacent kitchen. A private outdoor veranda is also accessible from these function/ training rooms.

To provide hospitality and the opportunity for the public to sample and buy FMC products and to socialize a large café, also with adjoining raised covered deck has also been incorporated. A yogurt and ice cream stand will also be included, and other local Fleurieu food and beverage producers will be able to display and promote their products. A retail shop will further provide opportunity to purchase FMC products to take away.

Outdoor activities are also planned, being hand milking and feeding of cows and calf’s, pony riding, mini tractor rides, mini petting zoos and adventure playgrounds to entertain young family members.
