URBAN ECOLOGICAL SYSTEMS, NSW
Bennett Architecture had the pleasure of being engaged as the lead architectural consultant for stages 1 and 2 of Cobbity Farm. This 7,500 m² state-of-the-art horticultural glasshouse was designed with sustainability, automation and food security at the pinnacle of importance. Not only does this facility grow fresh herbs, but also barramundi simultaneously which supplies a large portion of produce for supermarkets across NSW.
Utilising 3D modelling to integrate all consultant inputs and manufacturing components, a fully automated moving gully system enables maximum utilisation of growing space, with aquaculture and other processes below the growing beds.
The $6m+ stage 2 build consists of a complex interrelated system of engineered systems and processes including, growing, aquaculture, biofiltering, recycling, packing, storage, office, amenities, energy generation and climate control systems.
