The Jetty Restaurant, DARWIN nt

Bennett Architecture was involved with a fitout of the old pump house shed at the port of Darwin. This project fitted out the lower level with a seafood restaurant called the Jetty which has become very popular with Darwin locals.

A key feature of the proposal was the installation of a suspended external deck over the seaward side that allows the patrons to observe the sunsets, ebb and flow of tide and lots of local fish species which are attracted by the lighting of the water under.

The old pump house was used to provide cooling water from Darwin harbour to a nearby power station but now being redundant has enable the opportunity for a reuse due the fantastic waterside location.
