ROYAL DARWIN HOSPITAL BIRTHING SUITE, NT

Bennett Architecture provided architectural consultancy services for the new birthing suite, to be constructed in the old radiology area, located on the ground floor of the Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH).

The concept for the interior design was created during the workshops and was strongly inspired by nature, from the Larrakia Saltwater region, next to the Royal Darwin Hospital.

The pallet for the birthing rooms was inspired from the ocean creating a fluid movement thoughout the centre, a feeling of calm yet energised with familiar elements of home and nature.

The entry is a pallet of strong purples and ochres, teamed with timbers and soft whites which create an environment filled with empowerment and courage.
