YOUTH JUSTICE CENTREs, alice springs & DARWIN NT
In conjunction with architectural services, Bennett Architecture provided a detailed Interior Design package for the Youth Justice Centres in Alice Springs and Darwin. All aspects of the project required extensive stakeholder consultations with Indigenous cultural groups to develop an understanding for a suitable design response.
Bennett Architecture led workshops with the young people to explore colour response, historical context and the surrounding landscapes which had proven highly successful. The process resulted in positive outcomes which unearthed a deep and engaging response from all which allowed us to develop into colour schemes for the centres. The colour palettes are unique and represent harmony and calmness against the effects of personal stress with a deep connection to the original landowners, mother natures and local surrounds.
