MCLAREN FLAT SUBDIVISION, SA

The Scarpantoni families Winery was built within the town boundary of McLaren Flat. The ‘flat’ has been a rapidly growing and popular hamlet town in the tourism area of the McLaren Vale’s area because of its country living options within a small town.

The winery still owns a large unbuilt portion of the town parcel and Bennett Design has provided conceptual designs of what might be possible for this town in the future.

The design centres on the original town hall, school and recreation grounds and provides a counter part town centre opposite based on a piazza court of green space focal point, commercial shops at ground level and denser apartments to frame the court. Connectivity is then created to ratiate from this place to the surrounding housing suburb.
