TERRITORY HOUSING RENEWAL IDEOLOGY, NT

Aimed at unlocking further innovation and outcomes for government housing, Bennett Architecture delivered a feasibility study to the local government housing authority. Our goal was to develop a strategy which utilised the NT Planning Scheme Policy changes to improving housing and social diversity.

The concept outlined the economic potential of larger sized allotment housing nearing their anticipated lifespan and redeveloping into four dwellings which quadrupled the number of tenancies. The designs incorporated secure duplex housing with a contemporary social layout with durable finishes which required minimal maintenance and ease of servicing for government subcontractors.
