oxenberry farm COTTAGE restoration, SA

These buildings are believed to be the first settlers dwellings built in McLaren Vale by William Colton who arrived at the spot with his family on January 2nd, 1840. As the oldest standing buildings in McLaren Vale; the site is a significant local tourism asset as it is set on the linear trail that forms the boundary with the vineyards and wetlands and it is a known café and gathering area.

The intent was to re-use as much of the existing structure as possible to preserve the heritage while making it capable of being reused for accommodation. The unique nature of the facility, with 3 separate rooms and wet areas means that it can be used for family rentals allowing another dimension of accommodation for this important tourism region.
